  1. You must complete a bachelor’s degree, preferably in the Social Science disciplines.
  1. You must earn a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) and receive NO grade below a C in ALL courses in the 60-unit Social Science Subject Matter Program.

(To obtain a current list of the “Coursework Requirements for the Social Science
Subject Matter Program,” please e-mail us at sssmp@csun.edu and a copy will be
      sent to your e-mail address).

  1. You must successfully pass the CSU Upper Division Writing Proficiency Exam with a score of “10” or higher.
  1. You must submit a complete Program Portfolio that is evaluated as either “Acceptable” or “Excellent.”
  1. You must apply and receive subject matter clearance from the SSSMP Program Director through the Social Science Subject Matter Program Office.
