David Schwartz, CSUN Class of 1992, serves as an Ambassador to the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. He is an attorney in the law partnership Schwartz & Shapiro LLP. Mr. Schwartz counsels individuals, businesses and partnerships on income tax planning strategies. In addition to his tax planning work, Mr. Schwartz provides counsel in the areas of business transactions, estate and business succession planning, trust and estate administration, and charitable planned giving.
An alum of CSUN's Department of Political Science, Mr. Schwartz is particularly well-versed in sophisticated wealth transfer and estate planning strategies for individuals, having counseled clients on such matters as generation-skipping planning, sales and loans to irrevocable grantor trusts, grantor-retained annuity trusts, and charitable lead and charitable remainder trusts.
He also advises clients on legislative updates concerning tax laws, which allows him to offer timely, comprehensive solutions to meet clients' diverse planning needs.
Mr. Schwartz frequently presents educational sessions to CPAs, insurance advisors, financial advisors and other professionals.
