Bernard K. MelekianPhillip M. Adleson, Esq

Phillip M. Adleson, Esq., is a founder, principal shareholder and senior attorney in the law firm of Adleson, Hess & Kelly, APC. He received his J.D. from the University of Santa Clara Law School in 1976, and was admitted to the California Bar that same year. From 1976-1977, Mr. Adleson served as research attorney for Justice Margaret J. Morris, California Court of Appeal (Fourth Appellate District). He received a B.A. from California State University, Northridge in Political Science in 1972, attended University of Southern California Graduate School in Political Science (1972-1973), and he participated in Hastings College of the Law--University of California College of Advocacy in 1978.

Mr. Adleson founded the predecessor to Adleson, Hess & Kelly in 1977 and has been in the private practice of business and real estate law ever since that time. He serves on the State Board of Directors of the United Trustees Association ("UTA"), is a two-term, past President of UTA (1986-1988) and has served multiple terms as State Legislative Chairman. He has represented numerous lenders, borrowers, principals in transactions, trustees, trade associations, real estate licensees and title companies in trial courts, amicus curiae briefs, class actions and as an expert witness.

Mr. Adleson is a past instructor of real estate, business law and foreclosure classes at De Anza Community College and San Jose State University. He is a former real estate broker and has taught numerous classes approved for Department of Real Estate continuing education credit. Many of his programs have also been approved by the California State Bar for Continuing Legal Education ("CLE") credits. Mr. Adleson has testified before the judiciary committees of both the California Assembly and California Senate, in addition to drafting proposed legislation that has ultimately become law in California. He has testified as an expert witness in a number of courts on subjects including real estate, lending and foreclosure. He has authored a real estate book as well as articles on real estate and business law.

Mr. Adleson is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Almaden Youth Association, past President of the Almaden Valley Girls Softball League, past board member and Vice President of the Almaden Pony Baseball, and past board member of the San Jose Police Activities League (softball program).
