(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., October 26, 2009) -- On Saturday, the CSUN MUN team participated in a conference in Anaheim. There were 23 students that participated in the conference. CSUN students constituted 7.5 percent of the students in attendance, but they won 44 percent of the awards. A total of 8 awards were won by the students. In 3 of 6 committees, a CSUN student was the single, best delegate in the committee. The following students won an award.
Taina Vargas won an Outstanding Delegate Award representing Tanzania in the World Trade Organization.
Eric Suavo won a Distinguished Delegate Award representing Chile in the GA 1st Committee.
Quang Tran won an Outstanding Delegate Award representing The United Kingdom in the GA 1st Committee.
Kelly Quiggle won a Distinguished Delegate Award and a Research Award representing Chile in UNCTAD.
Ryan Storey won an Outstanding Delegate Award representing Cuba in UNCTAD.
Eduardo Lagunas won a Research Award representing Cuba in the Economic Commission of Latin America and the Caribbean.
Nicole Stephens won a Research Award representing Benin in the New Economic Partnership for African Development.
