Professional Experience
Private practice of law in civil law (2002 to 2006) and volunteer on Los Angeles Legal Aid
Foundation Private Attorney Involvement project in housing and consumer fraud related to
housing (2004 to 2006)
Staff attorney, representing qualified persons in housing, education and employment matters,
also, I was involved with access to justice issues and made presentations on fair housing and
landlord tenant and section 8 matters. California Rural Legal Assistance. (12/97 to 6/2002)
Principal planner for the City of Destin, Florida. (1997) I prepared the evaluation and appraisal
report for the City’s Comprehensive Growth Management Plan, and I drafted a Comprehensive
Growth Management Plan for the City. I also worked on revisions of local regulations.
Senior Planner for the Department of Community Development, Martin County, Florida. I drafted
the County’s nonconformities ordinance, prepared evaluation and appraisal reports for the
housing and water and sewerage elements of the County’s Comprehensive Growth Management
Plan, drafted the County’s amended housing and water and sewerage elements, prepared staff
reports on proposed future land use changes, drafted a department procedures manual, and
organized, wrote parts of and made the presentation to the Department of Community Affairs on
the County’s sustainable community submission. (1995-1997)
Adjunct professor of law and planning, Florida Atlantic University, Graduate School of Urban and
Regional Planning. (1997) American Bar Association CEELI project, as a volunteer reviewing
proposed environmental legislation in Moldavia.
Private attorney, Ukiah, California. Contracted with the First District Appellate Project on child
