Bio

Assistant Director of Field Education received her MSW from UCLA and is also an alumna of CSUN with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Child Development. Ms. Henningfield’s responsibilities include recruitment of field placement sites and facilitation of internship placements. She also serves on the department’s admissions committee and several curriculum committees.

Ms. Henningfield also teaches courses in the department including; SWRK 603 DSM IV-TR, SWRK 501 Human Behavior in the Social Environment, SWRK 630 Family Crisis and Trauma, SWRK 650O Social Work in Healthcare Settings, and SWRK 622 Advanced Field. She has worked as a Field Liaison for CSUN and as a Field Instructor for CSUIN, UCLA, and CSULA. Currently, Ms. Henningfield serves on the board of directors for two local nonprofits; Single Mothers Outreach and SCV Youth Project.

Prior to joining the faculty at CSUN, Ms. Henningfield worked as a Clinical Consultant at a locked psychiatric hospital where she supervised the social services staff, provided case consultation and was responsible for weekly in-service training for the counseling and social services staff. Ms. Henningfield has worked in the areas of mental health and medical social work for over 20 years.
