Research Interests

Three major areas of research activity:

  1. Human factors techniques applied to interactive media and technology-mediated learning systems, especially for atypical populations and/or distance applications
  2. User participation in medical information systems to support user-centered health care program design, especially using internet technology to interface with health care providers and systems
  3. Identifying and validating techniques drawn from video game design to develop highly motivating instructional technology for educational applications.
