NEDAW 2017 - Black Female Beauty and Bingeing

Black women live in a world dominated by print and electronic media that reject non-Anglo features as they meticulously articulate a narrow standard for physical attractiveness. It is imperative to address oppressive and ubiquitous influences with nonsexist and multi-culturally competent approaches. This workshop will present an Afro-centric and womanist approach to learning to nurture and love one’s self.
