The pilot partnership project includes assessment of the model developed by the project, as well as evaluation of different programs and constituent groups throughout the process. After completion of the initial phases of the project at Grant High School, the model will be introduced in another area school where assessment from outside evaluators will be conducted. During the development phases, Grant High School students in classes that are partnering with CSUN service learning projects will be given pre and post assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of each class program. Assessment tools and activities will be developed in collaboration with the American Association of Higher Education. Student learning for both Grant High School and CSUN students will be assessed through instruments developed by the Center for Community-Service Learning at CSUN. Additionally, graduate students in the Department of Educational Psychology who function in school counseling roles will assist in developing assessment tools for evaluating the changes in overall school climate as a result of the pilot project. |
