TEACHING ASSOCIATES

Marisa C. Garcia Rodriguez

Marisa is an alumnus of Cal State University Long Beach for Technical Theatre Arts, with an additional background in psychology and student affairs. A native of Southern California, her research interests include gender studies, ethnic studies with an emphasis in Chicana/o Studies, body image, popular culture, and media studies. Marisa was the 2007-2008 recipient of the University Student Union, Inc. Proctor award and Aida C. Salazar award. She is currently assisting with the Aronstam department library.

Nicole Kaspar

Nicole began her interest in the field of communication at Moorpark College where she competed on their nationally recognized forensics team for two years. During that time she received various medals in Informative Speaking, Persuasive Speaking, Communication Analysis, and Speech to Entertain at both Phi Ro Pi and AFA national tournaments. In 2007 Nicole graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. degree in Speech Communication from California State University Long Beach. She is now pursuing a Master's Degree in Communication Studies at California State University Northridge. In addition, she teaches public speaking and is a coach on the CSUN forensics team.

Hengameh Rabizadeh

She graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2006 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies. After working for several years in marketing and public relations in the non-profit sector, Hengameh decided to return to California State University at Northridge to earn her Master’s in Communication Studies. Hengameh plans to utilize her experience as a Teaching Associate to pursue a teaching career at the college level.

Christa Sloan

Christa graduated Cum laude from Sacramento State University in 2007 with a Bachelors degree in Interpersonal Communication. She began her career in forensics in her undergraduate program, competing in parliamentary debate, persuasive speaking, and oral interpretation. After much success in regional tournaments, Christa placed second in Parliamentary debate at the state level and medaled in both persuasive speaking and Prose at the national Phi Rho Pi tournament. In addition to competing, Christa coached IE events for the nationally recognized Solano college team. She is currently pursuing her Masters degree in Communications and is excited to be working with the CSUN forensics team as the IE coach.
