University Ceremonies and Honors Convocation

University Ceremonies are where degree candidates get their degrees conferred and Honors Convocation recognizes outstanding graduating students who are distinguished based on Scholastic or Personal Achievement.

The above schedule continues the university's efforts to provide students with an exceptional commencement celebration while also ensuring that there is adequate and safe seating for all graduates and invited guests at the Oviatt Lawn commencement site. In support of these goals, the use of guest tickets for entry to any commencement ceremony will continue.

Ceremony Receptions

Ceremony Receptions are hosted by the University to provide parents and guests an opportunity to meet faculty and staff.

A reception for graduates and guests will be held immediately following the ceremony in the courtyard of the Valley Performing Arts Center, south of the Oviatt Library on Nordhoff Street.

Hooding Ceremonies

Hooding Ceremonies are a special recognition ceremony for Masters and Doctoral degree candidates during which a faculty advisor and/or a Dean of Graduate Academics invest a hood on a student, signifying their success in completing the graduate program.
