Job Announcement for Assistive Technology Internship
Job Description
Under direct supervision of the Coordinator for Training, Grants & Contracts for the Center on Disabilities, CSUN, this person will learn in-depth knowledge on Assistive Technology (technology for persons with disabilities) applications in various environments. This position will be required to work up to 20 hours a week with a flexible schedule, both in and out of the main office, and with the possibility of some travel opportunities throughout the year.
This position will provide support to the Center's training team on various assignments regarding new and existing assistive technology training workshops; implement and conduct possible community-based training workshops on assistive technology; represent the Center at various conferences and workshops; monitor in-house assistive technology and maintain inventory; conduct web-based research to augment existing online curriculum; participate and possibly conduct in in-service training; and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Senior undergraduate or graduate level; assistive technology and disability experience is recommended; ability to work independently, in and out of the main office; posses public speaking experience; demonstrate good to excellent written and oral communication skills; posses good organizational skills, willingness to be flexible; demonstrate creative applications of technology interventions; willingness to be a part of a national training team; ability to conduct web research and develop resources as needed.
