Registering with the Center on Disabilities
Once you have been granted admission to California State University, Northridge, the Center on Disabilities, welcomes your request for academic support services. In order to obtain accommodations you will need to register with our office.
To register, you must provide written documentation signed by your physician, other licensed health care professional, or rehabilitation counselor. The documentation must contain a specific diagnosis, indicating whether your disability is temporary or permanent, and a concise description of the functional limitations imposed by your disability. Forms for both physical disabilities and mental health disabilities are available for you to take to the professional completing your documentation. Students with a learning disability must provide copies of their assessment containing the results of a diagnostic interview, an assessment of aptitude, academic achievement, and information processing as well as a diagnosis with functional limitations.
Counselors are available to assist you at your convenience. You may schedule a full appointment or utilize our brief walk-in service to meet with an available counselor. We can be reached by phone, fax, e-mail, TTY, or in person at:

Our general office hours are 8 - 4:45, Monday through Friday. Alternative testing is available at night for students taking evening classes by appointment only. Peer mentors who provide individual mentoring/academic coaching assistance are also available in the evening by appointment.
