Greetings from the Center on Disabilities at California State University, Northridge!
The Conference Newsletter for the 2018 event has information that we want to share with you in advance of this year’s event.
There is no-on site conference registration! Registration for Attendees, Exhibitors and Pre-Conference Workshops closes on Thursday, March 15.
The Conference Check-In Area is located in the Seaport Ballroom Foyer on the 2nd floor. Self-service check-in is as easy as 1-2-3. Just enter the email address and password you used when you registered and we’ll print out your name badge and give you your tote bag and program materials so you can begin your conference experience.
All registrations (excluding Exhibit Hall Only) will end soon so register now for the conference.
Exhibit Hall Only Registration is available at Exhibit Hall Pass. For fast entry into the Exhibit Hall, we encourage you to pre-register. Please use the convenient group registration if there are 5 or more of you attending.
Please remember that your conference Name Badge is your “permit” to access what you’ve registered for, so we encourage you to treat it the same as the cash value of your registration. The CSUN Conference will replace a lost name badge one time only for a fee of $25.00. Additional replacements will be charged the full conference fee.
Please be advised that unauthorized recordings of any nature are strictly prohibited and cell phones and mobile devices should be turned off or silenced in consideration of others. This policy extends to all official activities being held in any location of the hotel that is deemed part of the event (sponsor suites/function rooms, presentation rooms, Exhibit Hall, etc.).
We encourage you to check-out the selection of Pre-Conference Workshops offered this year, so that you can come early and learn more! Several of these are already at their maximum attendance so please register by the March 15th deadline.
CEUs will be provided by San Diego State University (SDSU) for $39 per 1.0 contact hours paid directly to SDSU (1.0 contact hours is equivalent to 10 hours of participation). If you are interested in applying for CEUs please visit the conference website for more information at CEUs.
Please be sure to join us in the Seaport Ballroom on Tuesday evening, March 20 at 5:30 pm for the official opening of the 2018 Conference, hosted by Conference Chair, Caren Sax. Our Keynote Address this year will be delivered by Daniel Goldstein. Mr. Goldstein is one of the most experienced attorneys in the field of disability rights. His impressive achievements in securing successful judgements and significant contributions to ensuring accessibility should prove to be an engaging Keynote Address.
The presentation of The Fred Strache Leadership Award to Dr. Richard Ladner will follow the Keynote Address.
The inaugural Dr. Arthur I. Karshmer Award for Assistive Technology Research will be conferred upon Samuel Sennott, Alisha Chavez, Hannah Goldberg, Jess Theobald for submitting the best Journal paper.
Please Note: For those unable to attend the Keynote Address it will be live streaming at: Keynote.CSUNconference.org.
