Keynote

This year's Keynote Address at the Conference which will be held March 18, Tuesday evening, in Manchester Ballroom at 5:30 PM. Dr. Caren Sax, this year's Conference Chair, will host the Tuesday evening event. A Reception will follow the Keynote Address.

Keynote Speaker Mr. Tommy Edison We are pleased to announce that this year our Keynote Speaker will be Mr. Tommy Edison. Tommy Edison has been blind since birth and produces online videos that reveal a glimpse into his life and the funny challenges that he faces daily. Mr. Edison is also living his dream as “The Blind Film Critic”. With his unique and interesting perspective as a movie reviewer, Tommy says “I watch movies and pay attention to them in a different way than sighted people do. I’m not distracted by all the beautiful shots and attractive people. I watch a movie for the writing and acting.” In addition, Mr. Edison has been a radio professional for nearly 25 years, having spent the last 19 at a Connecticut station as – you guessed it - a traffic reporter! Tommy’s engaging personality and humorous stories are sure to provide the conference with an entertaining “kick-off”.

Pre-Conference Workshops

Full-Day and Half-Day Pre-Conference Workshops will be offered on Monday, March 17, 2014 and Tuesday, March 18, 2014. These workshops are designed to give in-depth training on specific topics.

Exhibits

The exhibit hall will be open Wednesday, March 19, 2014 through Friday, March 21, 2014. The Exhibit Halls are FREE and the hours are as follows:

  • Wednesday, March 19, 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM
  • Thursday, March 20, 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM
  • Friday, March 21, 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM

You must register to attend the FREE Exhibit Halls. Please register for "Exhibit Hall Only" if you are only visiting the exhibitors. You only need to register once to access the exhibits during open hours.

Accommodation Services for the Exhibit Halls

In our effort to provide reasonable accommodation services (interpreters and sighted guides) at the conference, we are limiting requests to 20 minutes time periods when visiting the Exhibit Halls. As always, these services are based on the availability of our service providers.

You are, of course, welcome to return and request services again throughout the day and/or on additional days you may be coming to the Exhibit Hall.

We appreciate your cooperation with these procedures and thank you for your support in our efforts to provide services for the convenience of our conference attendees and visitors to the Exhibit Hall.
