- Track
- Employment
- Abstract
- Session starts at 3:00 P.M. This demonstration features the Labor Department’s ePolicyWorks, a new approach to disability employment policy making that harnesses the power of interactive Web and collaborative technology. Featuring a series of online work spaces, a wide range of stakeholders can learn and contribute to the conversation about employment and disability policy, as well as access organizational and productivity tools. Built using Microsoft SharePoint (MOSS 2010) and supported by four virtual servers in a cloud environment, ODEP has been troubleshooting Section 508 accessibility and usability shortcomings to design a universally accessible online work space. ePolicyWorks has established a model for future national policy-building efforts and reflects the Administration’s commitment to open government, heightened transparency, collaboration and participation.
