When and where is the conference convened?

California State University, Northridge, Center on Disabilities' 21st Annual International Technology and Persons with Disabilities Conference will be convened on March 20-25, 2006 at the Los Angeles Airport Hilton and Mariott Hotels.

What are the conference fees for participants to attend?

The registration fee for Pre-Conference Workshops is $249 per day, if registered by February 20, 2006. After February 20, 2006, the fee is $279 per day. Registration material will be available in early January 2006.

The registration fee for the General Sessions Conference Package is $399, if registered by February 20, 2006. Thereafter the fee is $449. This includes all activities of March 20-25, 2006: Keynote Address, more than 275 General Sessions, and entrance into the Exhibit Halls. Registration material will be available in early January 2006.

Per day attendance for the General Sessions is:

Wednesday, March 22, 2006, $259, if registered by February 20, 2006. Thereafter the fee is $299.

Thursday, March 23, 2006, $249, if registered by February 20, 2006. Thereafter the fee is $289.

Friday, March 24, 2006, $249, if registered by February 20, 2006. Thereafter the fee is $289.

Saturday, March 25, 2006, $179, if registered by February 20, 2006. Thereafter the fee is $239.

What is the difference between a Pre-Conference and a General Session?

The Pre-Conference Workshops offered on Monday, March 20, 2006 and Tuesday, March 21, 2006 are designed to give in-depth training on specific topics. These training sessions are usually 6 hours in length. An additional registration fee applies to the Pre-Conference Workshops.

The General Sessions of Wednesday, March 22, 2006 through Saturday, March 25, 2006 are 60 minutes and 30 minutes in length. These sessions cover such topics as AAC, assessment and service delivery, blind/low vision, in the workplace, Internet, in the classroom, postsecondary, and many more. There are more than 275 sessions to choose from throughout the 4 day period.

How can I become a presenter?

For those interested in giving a presentation during the General Sessionsof the Conference (March 20-25, 2006), the Call For Papers deadline to submit a proposal is closed. How can I become an exhibitor?

How can I register to attend?

Registration materials will be available in early January 2006. We encourage you to register on or before February 20, 2006 to receive the "Early Bird registration discount:
Pre-Conference Workshops: $249 /day
General Conference: $399

You may submit your registration form by email, fax, or phone.

Please note: Registrations will only be accepted until March 10, 2006 (this includes any mailed, faxed, or emailed registrations). After this date, please bring your registration form to the "On-Site Registration" counter at either hotel.

All who register by February 20, 2006 will receive confirmation by email or mail. Upon arrival at the Hilton or Marriott Hotels, (you may register at either hotel), please come to the counter marked "Conference Registration ." It will be helpful, but not necessary, to bring your confirmation with you.

Cancellations
Cancellations must be received in writing by March 10, 2006. A $50 processing fee will be assessed for all cancellations. Replacements are welcome, and no-shows will be billed.

Are there scholarships available?
A limited number of scholarships (waiver of conference fees only) are available from the Center on Disabilities. The criteria is as follows:

  • People who are first-time attendees at the conference

  • Persons with disabilities OR guardian of a dependent with a disability
  • The deadline to submit a scholarship application is Friday, February 3, 2006.

    Are discounts available?

    Student Discounts
    Full-time students are offered a 50% discount when a Registration Form is accompanied by verification of current enrollment. ( class schedule or letter from the registrar). Payment in full must accompany the Registration Form.

    CSU Discounts
    CSU Faculty and Staff are offered a 50% discount; payment in full must accompany the Registration Form.
