Learn about the exciting new features available in Freedom Scientific's latest release of OpenBook. OpenBook makes printed and graphic text accessible using the best optical character recognition technology available. It also includes a wide variety of features for managing your documents and transferring them to a PAC Mate or notetaker. With OpenBook, it's easy to create audio, Braille, or large print versions of your documents. Use the online book search for easy access to thousands of books.
The fax feature lets you fax documents, and makes received faxes accessible. You can even make quick copies using OpenBook's photocopy feature.
The presentation will begin with a summary of OpenBook's different optical character recognition (OCR) engines and scanning modes. OpenBook includes three different engines: OmniPage, Recognita, and FineReader. In addition, we will discuss how and when to use the various scanning modes for the most efficient and effective scanning. These features allow you to choose the combination of scanning options and OCR software that works best for your needs.
