This presentation will highlight the many powerful magnification and speech features of MAGic 10.0, Freedom Scientific's solution for screen magnification. Participants will see first hand how they can customize MAGic to meet their individual vision needs. The presentation will demonstrate how you can use MAGic to replace and swap screen colors, apply colors and enhancements to the mouse pointer and cursor, highlight text using a variety of styles and colors while reading, and more. MAGic combines unmatched flexibility with powerful functionality to provide a positive user experience for people with low vision. Participants will see how easy it is to take advantage of MAGic's many features to become more productive computer users.
The presentation will start with a basic overview of MAGic screen magnification software. Following this, we will discuss how you can use MAGic to customize the mouse pointer, cursor, and screen colors by adding enhancements, creating color replacement rules, choosing colors, applying transparency, and so on. Participants will learn how to save groups of mouse, cursor, and color enhancements as schemes that they can apply at any time. This provides MAGic users with the ability to quickly change their settings to adapt to a variety of situations. We'll also discuss how to manage these schemes.
Afterwards, we'll move on to using MAGic for reading and navigating text. Participants will see how they can customize MAGic according to their individual reading needs or preferences. MAGic allows users to change text highlighting options, speech verbosity and synchronization, voice settings, mouse and cursor tracking, and more.
Next, participants will get to see how MAGic interacts with, and provides access to, several popular applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Internet Explorer. MAGic contains a number of special features that make working with these programs easy.
We'll then look at the Quick View Frame feature, which lets you monitor a particular area of the screen while you work in another area. Following this will be a discussion about the multi-language capabilities of MAGic, including how to select and switch between a primary and secondary language.
Finally, participants will learn about the different MAGic views. Most of these views let you see both an unmagnified and magnified area of the screen at the same time. Users can choose between Full, Lens, Overlay, Dynamic Lens, and Split view.
At the end of this session, attendees will understand the benefits of using MAGic screen magnification with speech to access their computer applications. They will see how MAGic can provide them with all the necessary tools to accomplish virtually any computer-related task. They should be familiar enough with the features of MAGic to begin using the program right away. Finally, participants should come away with a basic understanding of all MAGic's different customization options, and how these options can help them make the most of their favorite applications, the Internet, and the Windows operating system.
