General Information
On March 14-19, 2005, the 20th Annual International Conference,"Technology and Persons with Disabilities," will be held at the Hilton Los Angeles Airport and Los Angeles Airport Marriott Hotels. The conference covers all aspects of technology and disabilities, and will feature a faculty of internationally recognized speakers.

Preconference Workshops
Preconference workshops will be offered on Monday, March 14, 2005, and Tuesday, March 15, 2005. These workshops are designed to give in-depth training on specific topics. The registration fee is $249 per day, if registered by February 14, 2005. The cost thereafter is $279 per day.
Please note: Due to limited seating, you must preregister for each Preconference Workshop. If the workshop you select is full, we will notify you and give you an opportunity to either select another workshop, be put on the waiting list, or request a refund.
All "Monday" Preconference Workshops will be held at the Marriott hotel. If checking in on Sunday, March 13, or Monday, March 14, please come to the "Conference Preregistration" counter at the Marriott hotel only.
RESNA CEUs available for all Preconference Workshops
CEUs will be available for all the conference's 19 full day Preconference Workshops. CEUs will be provided by RESNA, an authorized provider of IACET (International Association for Continuing Education and Training) CEUs. A flat fee of $16.00 covers all CEU fees for unlimited Preconference Workshops. This fee is payable during the conference at the CEU station located at the Speaker/Exhibitor Registration counter in the Marriott hotel.
General Sessions
Over 300 general conference sessions will be presented on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, March 16-19, 2005. Registration fee for all four days per person is $399 (Early Bird), if registered by February 14, 2005. The cost thereafter is $449.
All who preregister by February 14, 2005, will receive confirmation by email or mail. Upon arrival at the Hilton or Marriott hotel (you may register at either hotel), please come to the counter marked "Conference Preregistration." It will be helpful, but not necessary, to bring your confirmation with you. Please note: "Early Bird" and regular paid Preregistrations will only be accepted until March 4, 2005 (this includes any mailed, faxed, or emailed registrations). After this date, please bring your registration form to the "On-Site Registration" counter at either hotel.

• DAISY Consortium Series
The DAISY Consortium consists of nonprofit libraries and organizations from around the world that provide information to persons who are blind and print disabled. The consortium's strategic plan includes development of: International Standards, digital recording software, and comprehensive reading systems for multimedia purchase and hand held devices. The Consortium has organized several presentations focusing on these issues.
• Project EASI Sessions
EASI, (Equal Access to Software and Information), believes that people with disabilities must have the same access to information and resources as the general population. The mission of EASI is to promote this access through: on-site and online workshops, publications and videos, email discussion lists, web sites, electronic journals, and participation in a wide variety of regional and national conferences. EASI has organized six presentations for the CSUN 2005 conference.
• AccessIT Sessions
The National Center on Accessible Information Technology in Education (AccessIT) at the University of Washington serves to increase the access of individuals with disabilities to information technology in educational institutions at all academic levels nationwide. These sessions will cover information on accessible web pages, accessible instructional software, and accessible telecommunications and office equipment.
• Tool Factory
Special Education technology showcase that allows hands-on practice with a wide array of hardware devices and software programs, specifically designed for students with disabilities.
ASHA CEUs available for AAC Sessions
The United States Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (USSAAC) is approved by the Continuing Education Board of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) to provide continuing education activities in speech-language pathology and audiology. This program is offered for up to 1.9 CEUs (Various Levels; Professional Area). ASHA CE Provider approval does not imply endorsement of course content, specific products, or clinical procedures.
At the completion of the CSUN 2005 Conference, attendees will be able to:
1. Discuss advances in emerging technologies for persons who use AAC.
2. Discuss innovative and effective methods of educating persons who use AAC, professionals, paraprofessionals, families, and/or peers.
3. Identify ways in which AAC devices, symbol systems, and/or techniques can increase the participation of individuals with congenital and/or acquired communication disabilities.
4. Describe the long-term outcome of individuals who received intensive AAC services over many years as experienced by persons who use AAC and professional service providers.
5. Describe models of AAC service delivery in use throughout the nation/world.
6. Discuss successful strategies to develop/sustain literacy learning by individuals who use AAC.
7. Discuss the connections between cultural and social issues and AAC.
8. Discuss the process of evidence-based practice in AAC.
An annual ASHA CE Registry fee is required to register ASHA CEUs. ASHA CE Registry fees are paid by the participant directly to the ASHA National Office. The annual ASHA CE Registry fee allows registration of an unlimited number of ASHA CEUs for the calendar year. Contact the ASHA CE staff at 800-498-2071 ext. 4219 for CE Registry fee subscription information.
In the coming months, new ASHA CEU participant forms will be available at ASHA CEU activities. On these new forms, you have the option to use your ASHA Account Number instead of your Social Security Number. You can find your ASHA Account Number on your membership card, invoice statements, and mailing labels. You may also call the Action Center at 800-498-2071 to request your 80digit ASHA Account Number.
Cancellations
Cancellations must be received in writing by March 4, 2005. A $50 processing fee will be assessed for all cancellations. Replacements are welcome, and must be sent in writing by the original registrant. All no-shows will be charged.
Accessibility Services
To plan for appropriate accessibility, please indicate accommodations/services needed on the registration form. If your care provider will be attending the conference with you, please list their name in the Accessibility Services section of the registration form. There is no fee for care providers accompanying paid attendees.
