Marlene McIntosh presents this session using practical examples of how to use textHELP Read and Write, Kurzweil 3000, Dragon NaturallySpeaking, MindManager and Inspiration, Palm Pilots, and other technology in the classroom. This session specifically addresses how to teach using the technology for: Reading, Writing, Editing, Vocabulary Building (Word Discrimination), Note taking, Studying, Fostering Independence, Organizing, Mathematics, and Creating Cognitive Cue Cards using technology.

Using a PowerPoint presentation, and including specific examples, Marlene will demonstrate how to incorporate technology in the classroom. This includes: which type of computer files can be used in the reading and writing process, how to help students to write with textHELP Read and Write and Dragon NaturallySpeaking, and how to use graphing calculators, calculators with display, and talking calculators to help students with learning disabilities. Also, educators may guide students with the "how-to's" of taking the textbook with you on the go, freeing students from sitting by the computer. Other topics (as listed above) will include practical examples, suggestions, and ideas.

Marlene will also demonstrate tip sheets that will clearly list how to incorporate technology into the classroom.

This is a lecture/demonstration with room for questions and audience participation.
