Abstract:

This session will present a contrasting overview of ZoomText 8.0 and BigShot Screen Magnifier. ZoomText 8.0 is a powerful magnification and reading program designed for individuals with moderate visual impairments to total blindness. BigShot provides simple magnification features that are designed for individuals with mild visual impairments. Each product will be demonstrated in a manner that clarifies their respective feature differences, usability and target audience (user). This session is recommended for industry professionals that evaluate, recommend or purchase assistive technology products.

The ZoomText and BigShot presentation will include:

• Overview of each product
• Comparison of common features, including...
• • Magnification levels
  • Zoom window types
  • Tracking methods and options
  • Cost
• Explanation of target audiences
• Appropriate product selection (based on visual impairment)

The presentation will conclude with a question and answer session as well as an opportunity for attendees to try out the product.
