Abstract:

This session will a present the new ZoomText 8.0, featuring ground-breaking advancements in screen magnification and screen reading. Built on a powerful new screen model and innovative features, ZoomText 8.0 is truly a computer access solution for both low-vision and blind users. A user-friendly interface makes it easy to setup and use, insuring independence at home, school and in the workplace.

Attendees will see a complete demonstration of ZoomText's magnification and screen reading features and learn about the benefits offered to new and existing users. Mainstream and specialize applications will be utilized to demonstrate ZoomText's broad range support, ease of use, and readiness for home, education and workplace environments. Extra attention will be focused on ZoomText's specialized support for the Internet and Microsoft Office applications.

New magnification features include:

• Dramatic improvements in magnification for unmatched text legibility
• Improved color controls for sharper contrast and reduced glare

• Use of the mouse to explore and read the screen
• Selective typing echo (by key group)
