Providing Blind Children Access to Early Educational Software

Washington State School for the Blind
2214 E. 13th Street
Vancouver, WA 98661

P> Colleen has trained inmates at the Washington Women?s Correction Center to braille label and tactualize the overlays. Before Colleen did this, our overlays were very exciting, but they were a ?one of a kind item.? The inmates produce our overlays at a very minimal cost; they are currently paid $1.10 per hour. The access packages are then sold through the school Web site (www.wssb.org) at the cost it takes to produce and ship them.

The following preschool software is accessible for blind children. To our knowledge it is the only accessible preschool software for blind children.
