This half an hour presentation will introduce PARROT voice
recognition technology and products.
What is voice recognition ? A way to act on your environment
by only say the appropriate command. It is easy to use. Think
about these applications : make a phone call, switch on and use a
radio, record your appointment or your memo, etc … ".
Parrot SA has developed and manufacture a voice organizor very
useful for blind peoples . Our product is now selling in the US
and Canada.
PARROT, actually 15 people, was created in 1994. Our job is
based on voice recognition technology.
We have already developed several products:
- Voice recognition organizer :
It is an electronic diary, in which you can record phone numbers,
addresses, memo and appointments. It is a full voice product. You
input your data by speaking them, you get the answer by voice,
you search your data by voice recognition. You just say "John"
and the Parrot organizer answers "John" and says the phone
number. You can check your meeting information and messages just
by listening to them. If you need an alarm, Parrot can awake you
by playing music. It is actually distributed in Europe and Japan.
In the US we are distributed by the NFB, LS & S, Myna,
ILA
- Our technology is also useful for a variety of products
including a full duplex hands free car kit for cellular phones,
with echo cancellation and noise reduction algorithms. It
increases safety because you don’t have to take the handset
: you just speak the name, and the call is send after two
seconds. When the phone rings, the corresponding name is
announced if known, else it says the phone number.
- We provide chipset to our customers to integrate voice
recognition, and voice processing into a large variety of
products as any special electronic products for blinds to create
a voice interface. "Parrot 3" is ready to integrate voice
recognition in any electronic good as radio, home products,
etc.
In summary, this presentation will give you the opportunity to
learn how to use these full voice recognition products, and think
about new applications using this technology.
