Women in Los Angeles Politics
Featuring Council-member Nury Martinez, The Honorable Wendy Greuel, and The Honorable Joy Picus.
Los Angeles, the second largest city in the nation, has witnessed a decline in the number of women holding elective office in recent years. Current City Councilmember Nury Martinez, former City Controller and mayoral candidate Wendy Greuel, and former City Councilmember Joy Picus will discuss their experiences as women serving in elective office in the city of Los Angeles, as well as the challenges that women face in seeking elective office in the city.
The event will begin with a reception hosted by the CSUN Office of Government and Community Relations between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., followed by the panel of speakers from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
