Success Stories - Joanna Mills

My name is Joanna Mills and I transferred to CSUN Fall 2006. Since being here at CSUN, I've been quite successful. Fortunately, I did all of my general education requirements and prerequisites for my major (Cinema & Television Arts - TV Production) at Pasadena City College so when I transferred to CSUN, I was able to focus on my major courses.

This upcoming semester, fall 2007 will be my third semester and I am really excited because I am very close to graduating and pursuing my career. While attending CSUN, I also work at the CSUN Career Center as a student assistant. With all the wonderful career fairs and workshops such as Resumania, I've been able to network with people in the entertainment industry; for the summer of 2007, I am interning at the PBS station, KCET studios on the "Tavis Smiley Show". Interning at the "Tavis Smiley Show" fulfills a portion of my dream. I can only expect more and greater things in my life! And coming from a small town in Richmond, VA and being a single-mom and full-time student for over five years, it's been a long, hard, and rocky journey but it takes determination and perseverance and it's clearly paying off.
