SUNlink offers access to our job board and online career services. In SUNlink, you can find and apply for jobs and internships, sign-up for Career Center events and workshops, upload your resume, practice interviewing or schedule an on-campus interview. All on-campus federal work-study jobs and most student assistant positions are posted in SUNlink. More than 500 CSUN alumni are available through the Matador Network to mentor you on your educational and career goals.
If you are new to SUNlink, you will need to register and complete a profile. Your profile information is important because employers often use that information in searching for candidates who meet certain job qualifications. When registering for the first time, you need to contact the Career Center for the initial password and instructions. We recommend you use your CSUN portal email address as your user name.
The mission statement of the peer educator program is, "By building meaningful peer-to-peer interactions, we help students on their journey from academic to professional career."
When you visit the Career Center, you will most likely meet a peer educator. The peer educators are here to help you get started.
Our current peer educators are students like you, who are familiar with the career development process and can speak to you about Career Center resources, resume and cover letter development, and job search strategies.
They can also just listen as you begin sorting out what your next steps should be. You may also see the career peer educators on campus as they share the resources of the Career Center.
Check out our video for more information on our peer educators. You can contact the peer educators by either stopping by the Career Center located in University Hall 105, emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org or calling (818) 677-2878.
My name is Alexis Gonzalez, and I am currently a sophomore at CSUN. I am an undecided major; however, I am thinking of declaring psychology as my major with a minor in theater. My goal with this major is to obtain a master’s degree in college counseling while also being involved in theater productions since I really enjoy acting.
In my spare time, I love spending time with my friends and family, swimming, working out and listening to music. I am really grateful to have joined the Career Center team as a peer educator.
What I love most about being a peer educator is being able to help CSUN students and alumni with their majors and any other career questions they might have. I will try to help students in any way possible, and hopefully cause a great positive impact in their career goals.
Please do come by and take advantage of all the resources we offer. You would be surprised by how much you can learn from one visit. If you happen to see me around at the Career Center, please don’t hesitate to approach me. I look forward to seeing you soon!
My name is Claudia, and I am a senior here at CSUN. I am double-majoring in psychology and gender and women’s studies with a concentration in social work and welfare. After CSUN, I hope to get my master’s degree in social work and gain my clinical license. I hope to work in either a hospital or a non-profit that specializes in public health education.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, going to museums and amusement parks, listening to music and relaxing.
I’m so excited to get to work with my fellow CSUN peers and help you on your journey here at CSUN, or wherever you want to go! Don’t be afraid to stop by and ask questions, we always try our best to help. There are so many resources available on campus — all you need to do is visit — and you will see that the CSUN community is a great place to network and find out more about yourself.
My name is Dean, and I am currently a junior majoring in broadcast journalism with a minor in sociology. I enjoy being around any environment that involves communicating and working with people. I want to continue my education and obtain a master’s degree in high school counseling. I enjoy sports journalism and also plan to work in the sports industry, particularly in reporting game analysis. I want to gain experience working in both my passions for journalism and counseling throughout my lifetime.
In my free time, I enjoy being a disc jockey, playing baseball, competing in sports-related activities and meeting new people.
I am thrilled to be a peer educator and assist students in achieving their academic and personal goals. I love helping students feel confident and positive about their work and education. Come into the Career Center to explore the resources that can help you find the path toward your future career. Hope to see you!
My name is Jordan Helo, and I am a first-year graduate student. I am getting my master's in recreation and tourism management and plan to become an event planner in the entertainment industry. In my free time, I enjoy playing basketball, hiking, dancing, eating and planning weddings.
I have been working at the Career Center for three years, but this is my first year as a peer educator. I specialize in internships and am happy to answer any questions you have pertaining to experiential learning. We have some great resources for you, as well as friendly student-staff who can relate to some of the things you may be going through. I look forward to meeting you and helping you along your career path!
My name is Katryna Howard, and I am a peer educator for the 2013-2014 academic year. When you first meet me, you will most likely notice my curly hair. I am from the Bay Area and currently am a senior majoring in business management. Once I reach graduate school, I plan to focus on international business for my MBA.
I love being engaged through campus involvement and sharing that with others. As someone who is passionate about cultures all around the world, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to study abroad last summer in Italy through CSUN. Aside from my involvement on campus you can catch me working out during the early mornings in the Student Recreation Center, thrifting and learning creative Do-It-Yourself projects from YouTube.
The Career Center provides current students and alumni with valuable career and academic related resources. So, take advantage. I look forward to meeting you all and assisting you on your career path to success. Good luck, and see you soon!
Tseng College students have access to resources in the Career Library and are able to attend any events held by the Career Center, including our job fairs. At this time, career counseling, walk-in advisement, SUNlink, Pathways and on-campus interviews are not available to Tseng College students.
