Benefits of Working On-Campus

Convenience

When you work on-campus, you can schedule your work between classes and activities - and never lose your parking space!

Mentoring

When you find a great fit in a CSUN department, you may choose to remain and grow for many years. Many of the staff and/or faculty members become valued mentors even after the student has graduated.

Flexibility

Many on-campus positions are open standard business hours, but we understand that you are here to learn - most supervisors are flexible with your schedule, especially during difficult times like finals.

Part-time Positions

While in many departments you will be able to work greater hours during holidays (if you wish), you will not be pressured to work more than you are able.

Variety

From the Health Center to Oviatt Library to the University Student Union, you will find a wide range of positions for students with different interests, class levels and skill sets.

Work Study or Student Employment

You are not required to have work study to work on campus. Many positions are available with or without Work Study awards.

Management Opportunities

In some departments, management opportunities that will increase your skills, challenge you and build your resume are available for outstanding student employees.

Summer Employment

If you stay on campus during the summer, many departments will continue your employment through the summer; you may have the option to work up to 40 hours per week.
