Eligibility:

(Proof of graduation or CSUN affiliation required)

  1. Graduates of California State University, Northridge. 30-day grace period from last enrollment.
  2. Graduates from any four-year university.
  3. Currently enrolled CSUN Extension students.

Required Registration Fee:

$25.00 per year/Free with current CSUN Alumni Association Membership

  • Computerized Career Guidance Systems
  • Career Education – Access to Workshops and Industry Panels
  • Walk-in Career Advisement (limit five visits per semester / not a guaranteed appointment)
  • Resume Critique by a trained Peer Educator (limit one per semester / final draft only)
  • Job Fair Attendance

Job Search Services:

$10.00 per year/Free with current CSUN Alumni Association Membership

  • Password Access to My Career Center (online career education and services)
    • Job Listings / Apply for Jobs Online
    • Job Website Referral Resources including Federal, State, and Local Government Sites
    • Resume Builder and Interview Stream (available in September 2009)
    • Cyber Mentor – blog with a career counselor
  • Employer Information Sessions and Campus Interviews (first priority to currently enrolled students)
  • Job Search Preparation and Networking Events

Career Counseling:

Sessions limited to 3 per year
$50.00 per one- hour session
$30.00 with current CSUN Alumni Association Membership

  • Decision Making, Direction and Goal Setting
  • Job Search: strategies, guidance, and support
  • Career Advancement or Transition
  • Referrals

Vocational Testing:

$75.00 (Counselor referral required – includes additional sessions)

Fee includes test instruments, administration, scoring, and required counselor interpretation session

  • Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (online)
  • Strong Interest Inventory (online) or COPS (Career Occupational Preference System)
  • Skills Card Sort
  • Values Card Sort
  • Interpretation Session (Your choice of two 1-hour sessions or one 2-hour session)

Registration enters your email address and profile information in the Career Center's database. We may send email notices to inform you of services, events, and membership renewal. The Career Center does not sell email addresses or personal information.

We are located in the are located on the first floor of the University Hall Building, Suite 105. Check-in at the Information Booth on Prairie Street, between Darby Avenue and West University Drive (Etiwanda Street) for parking information. All day parking costs $6.00*. Registration for Alumni Services enters your email address and profile information in the Career Center's database. You may receive occasional email notices or fliers from the Career Center regarding open positions, on-campus interviews, employer outreach, new services, membership renewal, requests for support and participation, and events.
