Grammy Award-winning saxophonist, National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master and Tony Award nominee Branford Marsalis is one of the most revered instrumentalists of his time. He has led a dizzying array of jazz ensembles from big bands to quartets, and has been a frequent soloist with classical ensembles. He has performed and recorded with Sting and the Dave Matthews Band; acted in films including Throw Mama From the Train and School Daze; composed the soundtrack for films such as Mo Better Blues; and was the original bandleader for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Live jazz doesnt get any livelier when this much-anticipated group - one of the most innovative and forward-thinking jazz ensembles today - takes the stage.

Russian Ballet - Sleeping Beauty

The Russian National Ballet Theatre was founded in Moscow during the transitional period of perestroika in the late 1980s. At this moment in history, many of the great dancers and choreographers of the former Soviet Unions ballet institutions were exercising their new-found creative freedom by starting new, vibrant companies dedicated not only to the timeless tradition of classical Russian Ballet, but to invigorate this tradition as the Russians began to accept and embrace new developments in dance around the world. This breathtaking presentation of Sleeping Beauty set to the music of Tchaikovsky upholds the grand national tradition of Russian ballet.

The Company returns to our Great Hall stage to present a three-act production of Cinderella originally performed in Moscow in 1945. Cinderella is noted for the beautiful Prokofiev score and for the hilarious double-roles of the stepsisters, more mad than bad in this stunning production.

Flamenco Vivo! embodies all the passion, grace and fire that we have come to expect from this exciting art form, but under Paco Penas direction the audience becomes aware of the nuances, the range of rhythms, and the compelling nature of flamenco. Pena explores the trance-inducing tribal roots of flamenco, from the alborea to the razor-sharp complexity of the buleria all while keeping the audience captivated with dramatic compositions, fantastic guitar work, and fiery dancers.

Accompanied by pianist Scott Cady, the glamorous Neuwirth breathes life into the songs of Kander and Ebb, Weill-Brecht, Stephen Sondheim and other great lyricists from her critically lauded one-woman cabaret show.
