Faculty
The faculty members of the Business Law Department at the College of Business & Economics are all licensed attorneys and graduates of ABA accredited law schools. All faculty members have significant experience practicing law in business-related fields. The faculty members have practical and/or scholarly expertise in diverse areas of law including intellectual property, e-commerce, antitrust, real estate, employment law, white-collar criminal law, insurance, labor, commercial speech, damages computation, disability, international business, insolvency, commercial transactions, gender and the law, law and economics, & law and society.
In addition to teaching the courses required in the Business Law Option, the faculty teach the upper and lower division core courses and electives required of all Business Administration majors and general education courses offered to the university community. The faculty prides itself and has been consistently recognized for excellence in teaching.
While the faculty members main responsibility is to provide intellectually stimulating and challenging class room environment, many of our faculty engage in scholarly research in their fields of interest, supervise clinical and internship projects, participate in law related professional organizations, advise students who are considering law school, and serve the university's community.
Although some faculty members' continue to practice law outside of their university responsibilities, it is the policy of the department not to give legal advice to students or members of the public.
All department faculty are available during their scheduled office hours to advise students during the semester, with assigned department faculty available during registration periods. The faculty are also available to advise and counsel students who are interested in preparing for law school.
