How to Apply to CSUN MBA

Applying to the MBA program is a two-step process. Applicants must first submit a University application on CAL STATE APPLY before they proceed to the MBA Program application.

International applicants are advised to pay close attention for additional University application requirements. Additional information can be found online at the Office of International Admissions.

Only complete applications will be reviewed by the MBA Admissions Committee. Submitting a complete application which includes is the responsibility of the applicant.  

* Anyone applying after the priority deadlines posted below may not receive financial aid before their semester bill for the admitting semester must be paid.

Step 1. CSUN University Application and Requirements

  1. Complete and submit your online application by the application deadline and submit the $55 (U.S.) application fee payable to "The California State University". The fee is non-refundable and may not be transferred to another term. Specific payment instructions are available when you submit your online application. 
  2. Submit official transcripts to the university's mailing address below.The CSUN Nazarian MBA program requires that you submit official transcript(s) from all colleges and universities attended. Official transcript(s) must be in their original sealed envelope(s).

  • (INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS ONLY) - English Language Proficiency - Please have all scores sent directly to CSUN code 4707 directly from testing agency. 

TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language with a minimum paper-based score of 550, a minimum computer-based score of 213, or a minimum internet-based score of 79.

IELTS  - International English Language Test System with a score of 6.5 or higher. 

Pearson's - Pearson's Test of English with a minimum score of 58.

Step 2: MBA Program Application and Requirements

1. GMAT or GRE Scores:

The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is the primary test for admission to the CSUN Nazarian MBA Program. All applicants to the MBA program are required to take the GMAT.

Our program now accepts the GRE in lieu of the GMAT. Results to the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) must be sent directly to CSUN from the testing agency using the school code, 4707. Testing information can be found at www.ets.org.

2. Work Experience - Résumé

Be sure to include your places of employment, positions/titles held, your duration/tenure in each position, and any other accolades, achievements, or special recognitions you would like us to know. Applicants must complete this form.

Note: the final section of the resume will ask for the name(s) of your referent. Be sure to enter your referent(s) information so they can be notified of your request.

3. Letters of Reference

One to three letters of reference (may be from employer(s) and/or faculty). Applicants must complete the above-listed resume form and list their referent(s) contact information. Your referent(s) will then receive an email prompting them to complete the recommendation form.

4. Statement of Purpose

Using this form, this submission should include a detailed description of your background, career path, professional interests, and how you plan to use your CSUN Nazarian MBA degree.

5. Background Information Form:

The final step in applying to the CSUN Nazarian MBA program is submitting the Background Information Form.
