Thank you for your interest in the CSUN MBA Consulting Project program. This program offers your organization the opportunity to work directly with a team of graduating MBA students, capitalizing on their analytical and strategic knowledge, resulting in a professional-quality consulting report. Additionally, you will get an opportunity to share your wisdom and business acumen with a team of promising business leaders.
The College of Business and Economics has a thirty-year plus history of faculty-supervised teams working directly with local businesses and organizations in a win-win opportunity. We are pleased at the success of our Consulting Projects and the hands-on learning opportunities they provide to our graduating students and benefit to our local business community.
These projects are completed on a 15 week semester basis, and serve as the culminating requirement for graduating students. The students have completed all core coursework for the MBA program. Their performance in the program has demonstrated their excellent communication skills, analytical and problem solving abilities, and knowledge of cutting edge business practice and theory.
For this culminating experience, we require client projects to be interdisciplinary and integrative in nature (e.g. business planning, strategic planning, new product development and planning, market feasibility, turnaround or succession planning, etc.).
Participation in this program will result in the oral and written presentation of a comprehensive deliverable, such as a business plan. The specific scope of the project will be determined jointly by the students, client, and faculty supervisors. All projects are supervised by a principal faculty advisor and generally supervised by myself and the chair of the Graduate Committee.
