Carol Docan is a Professor of Business Law and former Chair of the Department. She is a recipient of the University Distinguished Teaching Award. Her professional experience is in commercial transactions, banking, family, and probate law. Her areas of research include, employment, trademark, family relations, consumer rights, communications, international business, and pedagogy. Professor Docan has served as a hearing examiner for the Los Angeles Police Commission and for the Los Angeles Board of Civil Service Commissioners, and as a Judge Pro Tem for the Los Angeles Judicial District. She also served as the President of the Pacific Southwest Academy of Legal Studies in Business.
