Academic Development Department

Business honors students strive not just to become people of success but also people of value. We build value for the College of Business and Economics not only by excelling in our classes but also by giving back our knowledge to others through tutoring. The Academic Development Department’s purpose is to provide opportunities for students in CSUN’s business college to receive free tutoring. Each business honors student allocates two hours per week for a possible tutoring session in two specific lower and/or upper division business core courses.

The department is also responsible for entering each tutor’s contact information into the appointment scheduling system, advertising our tutoring services to all COBAE students, keeping track of tutee issues and requests, and resolving any conflict that occurs. This department is also responsible for reporting tutoring statistics at the end of each semester, showing the growth of the tutoring program and the effect our tutoring has on the business students we serve.
