FlexCash is an optional benefit plan that allows you to waive medical and/or dental insurance coverage if you have other non-CSU coverage. If eligible, you may select FlexCash in lieu of a medical plan, and still enroll in a dental plan for your and your dependents.
If you are an active employee eligible for, and elect coverage through the CSU in a CalPERS health plan, the Tax Advantage Premium Plan (TAPP) enables you to pay for your medical insurance coverage on a pre-tax basis. Any such premiums for the CSU-sponsored coverage you have selected will be deducted each month from your salary before federal and state income and Social Security/Medicare taxes are calculated and deducted.
Voluntary Benefit Programs:
Available to part-time and temporary employees who are not eligible for employer provided health insurance, group critical illness insurance is a way for you to stay ahead of the medical and out-of-pocket expenses that can accompany a specific critical illness. After a waiting period, a lump sum benefit is payable upon initial diagnosis of various covered illnesses.
The California State University recognizes that individuals have different needs and has provided eligible employees the opportunity to apply for the right amount of protection for you and your family at very competitive group rates. Voluntary Accidental Death and Dismemberment covers you or your beneficiaries, in the event of death or dismemberment as a result of a covered accident.
The CSU provides eligible employees the opportunity to purchase Voluntary Long Term Disability (LTD) insurance. LTD insurance is designed to pay a monthly benefit to you in the event you cannot work for an extended period of time because of a covered illness or injury. This LTD benefit replaces a portion of your income, helping you to meet your financial commitments in a time of need.
The CSU Employees Auto & Home Insurance Program provided by California Casualty offers coverage designed to fit your needs.
