If you have an account, you can login to WebCT. If you do not have an account, use the WebCT Course Creation Form to request one.

What is WebCT?

WebCT is a comprehensive course management software. WebCT has a virtual classroom enviroment with the necessary tools to provide students with an equal education to the one they would receive in a classroom. Some of these tools are:

  • announcements
  • calendar
  • chat
  • whiteboard
  • discussions
  • mail
  • quizzes and exams
  • self-tests and surveys
  • content module
  • weblinks
  • gradebook
  • organization pages

 

How I get WebCT?

To get a WebCT account, use the "Accounts and Software" link on the the left sidebar.

 

What training is available at CSUN?

WebCT training is available in a number of workshops including, WebCT 4.1 – Getting Started, WebCT – Using Assessment Tools (Intermediate) and WebCT – Using Communication Tools (Intermediate). Please check our Training Schedule for workshop dates and times. If you would like to request specialized training please contact the Faculty Technology Center: ftc@csun.edu.

In addition, there are a series of CSUN WebCT guides available on the online tutorials and guides page.

 

How can I learn more about WebCT?

Download the WebCT's Getting Started Guide for Ver. 4 from the Blackboard website.

Visit the Ask Dr. C area of the Blackboard website, which is a question-and-answer service moderated by an expert group of trainers, instructional designers, administrators, project managers, support specialists and developers.

Another useful resouces are the Student Guides developed by Murdoch University in Australia.
