What is Elluminate?
Elluminate can be used to create an online classroom in real time with voice–over IP, talking head, application sharing, PowerPoint, video, web tours, closed captioning, and more. Elluminate sessions can be archived to create tutorials that students can access on demand.
How do I get Elluminate?
To get an Elluminate account, use the "Accounts and Software" link on the the left sidebar.
How do I schedule an Elluminate session?
To request an Elluminate Session, use the Elluminate Session Request Form.
How do I use Elluminate?
To begin using Elluminate first go to Elluminate Support site to determine that you have needed Java software installed. This is especially important for first time users.
It is recommended that you have a headset with earphones and microphone. The headset should be connected to your computer and working before you start up Elluminate (sometimes you may have to reboot your computer to get the headset to work). Elluminate also has the capability of transmitting video via webcam.
What training is available at CSUN?
Elluminate raining classes scheduled throughout the semester and include Elluminate Live! – Using a Synchronous Web Conferencing Enviroment (Introduction) and Elluminate Live! – Using Advanced Tools in a Web Conferencing Environment (Advanced – Sessions are Held Online). Please check our Training Schedule for workshop dates and times. If you would like to request specialized training please contact the Faculty Technology Center: ftc@csun.edu We also provide online tutorials and guides for many tools.
How can I learn more about Elluminate?
The Elluminate website features a Training and Documentation for Participants that inclues an Online Orientation, Participant Orientation (in Elluminate Live! VCR format), User Guide, Quick Reference Guide and Participant Orientation slides.
The site also feature a Self Help Portal with a Knowledge Base and Live Help.
