Faculty Technology Lab

Lab room with desks along walls, with computer stations and black chairs at each station. A faculty member using one station.

The Faculty Technology Lab is located in the Garden Level of the Oviatt Library, Room 30. Please visit the Faculty Technology Office in Oviatt 5 to request assistance or to use any of the multimedia equipment. Drop-in hours are for the lab are 1 - 5 PM Monday through Friday. We also accept appointments at x3443 or ftc@csun.edu. Set appointments will help to insure that staff are prepared for your visit. Please also refer to the FAQs and the online Guides and Tutorials for assistance.

The lab contains over a dozen laptops and multiple desktop workstations, including stations for video editing, media conversion (LP, tape, etc), captioning and video streaming. Other equipment includes color printer, scanners (flatbed and transparency), digital cameras and a Smart Board (electronic whiteboard).

Provided multimedia software includes Adobe Acrobat Professional (PDF editor), Dreamweaver (web editor), iMovie and Final Cut Pro (video editors), Flash (animation), Camtasia (screencasting), LecShare (accessible powerpoint on the web), Photoshop and Fireworks (image processing), Cleaner and Toast (video and audio converters), among others. In addition, we can provide assistance with WebCT, Elluminate and other instructional technologies.
