News and Events
Summer Redesign Institute
Twelve faculty members were selected for the 2012 Summer Institute, which will begin with a 2-week intensive, face- to-face session from June 4–15 and conclude with a 2-day showcase session on August 15-16 during which participants will present their redesigned courses. During the time in-between (June 15 - August 15) participants will continue working on their redesign projects through online activities, which has the added benefit of providing first-hand experience with online learning. During this time participants can also receive face-to-face support from their designated redesign teams, which include an instructional designer and a librarian. To learn more, see the schedule.
Hybrid/Online Pedagogy (HOP) Community of Practice
HOP will meet several times this semester, and feature guest speakers on topics ranging from lecture capture and learner analytics to high impact teaching practices. The first meeting is on February 28th, from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. in the Whitsett Room. See the emerging lineup.
New Online Course Quality Principles
We are pleased to announce that in conjunction with the CSU we have developed a new set of online course quality principles called “QOLT” (Quality in Online Learning and Teaching) which will underpin many of our training and development activities. The principles will also serve as the basis of the CSU Competition for Exemplary Hybrid or Online Teaching in Moodle.
