New York Life is sponsoring this extraodinary traveling exhibition that features the paintings of Johnnie Lee Gray, a self-taught artist from South Carolina. This major national exhibition traveling from New York, Chicago, Atlanta and on to CSU Northridge is a distinctive collection of paintings depicting African-American life during the last years of segregation in the South.

Curated by Dr. Gwendolyn Everett, art historian at Howard University, the exhibition at CSUN is a co-operation between Professor Ron Davis of the CSUN
History Dept and the CSUN Art Galleries.
