Cuba: Five Personal Odysseys

Contradicting twentieth century presumptions about Cuban art as primarily revolutionary propaganda or tropical daydreams, this exhibition takes an in-depth look at the personal odysseys of five artists from Cuba. Belkis Ayon, Carlos Estevez, Ibrahim Miranda, Fernando Rodríguez and Raúl Cordero all take different routes in a quest to explore and discover their cultural, social and geographic sense of place and identity. Exhibition curated by JoAnn Busuttil, CSUN Master's Candidate in Art History.
