Patsy Cox was born in 1973 in Ubon Ratchatani, Thailand. She received her BFA in Graphic Design and Ceramics from Southwest Missouri State University and her MFA in Ceramics and Sculpture from the University of Delaware. Her work focuses on taking ceramic forms into sculptural realms through form, concept and installation while keeping a foundation in the "clay tradition." Her forms are derived from the natural world and allude to family and community. She is currently an Assistant Professor of art at California State University, Northridge, and maintains a productive studio space in Los Angeles
