BIOGRAPHY:
Peri M. Klemm, Ph.D. is an assistant professor of African, Oceanic, and Native American art history. Her courses address the cultural context of non-Western arts and the receptions and display of non-Western art in the West. Her dissertation and published materials focus on identity and dress in Eastern Ethiopia. In 1999 she received a Fulbright award to study historical and contemporary body art practices among Afran Qallo Oromo women in and around Harar, Ethiopia. She received her doctorate in African art history from Emory University.
