Class Schedules

New Class Meeting Patterns

Beginning Fall 2009 - New Class Hour, More Options to plan your class schedule.

• More twice-a-week options in the mornings and early afternoons
• Late afternoon and evening classes are scheduled once-a-week as usual

Most 3-unit, face-to-face classes will meet:

Monday and Wednesday (MW),

Tuesday and Thursday (TuTh), or

Friday only.

Most morning and early afternoon classes will meet the following hours:

MW and TuTh class meetings:

• Duration: 75 minutes each
• Standard Times: 8:00 to 9:15 am, 9:30 to 10:45 am, 11:00 am to 12:15 pm, 12:30 to 1:45 pm, and 2:00 to 3:15 pm

Friday-only class meetings:

• Duration: 2 hours 45 minutes each
• Standard Times: 8:00 to 10:45 am, 11:00 am to 1:45 pm, and 2:00 to 4:45 pm

Late afternoon and evening classes will be scheduled once-a-week as usual.

You'll also be able to select from the following schedule options:

• More Saturday-only classes
• Friday-Saturday classes
• More completely online classes

How to Search for Classes

1. Class Search in SOLAR - If you have a CSUN account, log into the myNorthridge Portal on the CSUN home page (top right corner) and in the My Path to Graduation box, click Class Search.
2. Student Center (SOLAR) - Search for classes by meeting day and time and add classes after your enrollment appointment has arrived. Log into myNorthridge and in the My Path to Graduation box, select Student Center (SOLAR) > Enroll in a Class.
3. Guest Class Search - Guests may view CSUN course offerings here. No login is required.
4. Archive Schedule of Classes - View, download or print Adobe PDF or Word documents for past summer guides, final exam schedules, and schedule adjustment charts. Note: Use SOLAR Class Search to view current courses.
5. Search by Category - Use the Class Search "Additional Category" pull-down menu to find classes in these categories:

• Accelerated and PACE Courses
• Community Service Learning
• Experimental and Selected Topics
• Developmental Math, Reading, and Writing
• Freshman Connection Courses
• GE Plan C or R
• Interdisciplinary Courses
• Online Courses
• UNIV 60 - Supplemental Instruction

Category search is also possible in the SOLAR Student Center. In Enroll in a Class, use "Additional Search Criteria."

WINTER TERM 2009: January 2-18, 2009

For registration information, go to Tseng College.

• View the winter schedule of classes beginning Monday, October 20, 2008.

SPRING SEMESTER 2009: January 20 - May 22, 2009

• Weekday Classes begin: Tuesday, January 20, 2009. Saturday classes begin January 24.
• Available now in SOLAR Class Search.

Please note that the Women's Studies (WS) Department has a new name:
Gender and Women's Studies (GWS). Use the new name when searching for classes.

SUMMER TERM 2009: May 26 - August 18, 2009

• Session 1 and 2 classes begin: Tuesday, May 26, 2009.
  Session 3 classes begin: Wednesday, July 8.
• View the summer schedule of classes beginning Friday, March 6.
• Registration Guide available on campus and online Monday, March 9.

FALL SEMESTER 2009: August 24 - December 23, 2009

• Weekday classes begin Monday, August 24, 2009.
  Saturday classes begin August 22, 2009.
• View the “tentative” fall schedule of classes beginning Thursday, October 30, 2008.
