Introduction
A component course is a graded lecture class that includes a required non-graded, zero-unit activity or discussion class. The two components are combined as one course and grade on your CSUN transcript.
When you add either of the two components (i.e., the lecture or discussion), SOLAR automatically enrolls you in the other component.
Sometimes a component course also requires concurrent enrollment in another graded, unit-bearing class for a total of three components. You must enroll separately in the graded, unit-bearing corequisite class, as explained in the Class Notes on SOLAR. An example is CHEM 101/L (i.e., lecture and discussion components plus a lab).
Step 1
Log into myNorthridge at www.csun.edu with your CSUN User ID and Password.
