California Cross Enrollment

Undergraduate students enrolled at CSUN may enroll without formal admission and without payment of additional State University Fees in one course each academic term at a campus of the University of California or participating campuses of the California Community Colleges on a space available basis. For a Cross Enrollment application and instructions, go to the Student Forms website.

Concurrent Enrollment

Undergraduate students may be simultaneously registered at CSUN and another institution if the combined enrollment does not exceed 19 units. Students enrolling concurrently should be aware of the policies governing acceptance of transfer credits. Contact the Office of Admissions and Records for information concerning concurrent enrollment procedures and regulations. Concurrent enrollment at another institution is not to be confused with the CSU Intrasystem Concurrent Enrollment Program.

Enrollment in Courses after Graduation

Registration Access Mailers for the semester following graduation from CSUN are not issued automatically. Students interested in enrolling in courses after they have completed the B.A. or B.S. degrees at CSUN must file a graduate application for admission to the University. There is a $55.00 fee for processing the admission application. Admission to graduate programs is selective. Students interested in a particular program should seek advice from the academic department they plan to enter.

International Programs at CSUN

CSUN offers opportunities for students to pursue their studies as full-time students in one of 18 international countries including: Australia, Canada, Chile, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Ghana, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. Under the auspices of the CSU International Programs, participants in this program are concurrently enrolled at CSUN, where they earn full academic credit for their overseas studies. Students pay only regular CSU campus fees and all campus Financial Aid except work-study is applicable overseas. To be eligible to apply, students must be enrolled at a CSU campus or eligible to enroll from a California Community College; have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or 3.0, depending on the program; have upper division or graduate standing by departure; and have the necessary academic preparation, including college-level international language study for some countries. Contact the CSUN Office of Student Development and International Programs at (818) 677-3053 for additional information.

Intrasystem Concurrent Enrollment Program

The Intrasystem Concurrent Enrollment program permits students to enroll in classes at CSUN and another CSU campus simultaneously. There is no limitation as to the number of times a student may enter this program as long as an application is filed each semester within the application deadlines outlined by the host campus. For an Intrasystem Concurrent Enrollment application and instructions, go to the Student Forms website.

Intrasystem Visitor Program

The Intrasystem Visitor Program allows continuing CSUN students to enroll in one term at another CSU campus. Arrangements may be made with the CSUN Office of Admissions and Records within the application deadlines outlined by the host campus. For an Intrasystem Visitor Program application and instructions, go to the Student Forms website.

National Student Exchange

The National Student Exchange (NSE) provides full-time CSUN students with an opportunity to attend one of more than 190 other colleges and universities across the country at a cost similar to what they would pay to attend CSUN. NSE offers students the opportunity to experience college life and course work at a different university for a semester or a year, to live in another part of the U.S., and to travel. Financial Aid is applicable. Currently enrolled full-time students with a minimum GPA of 2.5 who will have at least sophomore standing during the planned exchange are invited to apply. In addition, it is possible to access various international programs via NSE. Thus, CSUN students may access NSE to study in countries not available through the CSU system. For more information, call (818) 677-3053 or visit the CSUN Office of Student Development and International Programs, USU SW 113.

Open University

Individuals who have not been formally admitted to CSUN may register for regular classes as Open University students through the Tseng College by obtaining a permission number from the instructor or academic department after classes begin. For more information, visit the Open University program. Please note that the number of units that may be taken as a nonmatriculated student and applied toward a degree is limited.
