Department Assessment

Departments

What is an SLO?

Student Learning Objectives (SLOs) focus on knowledge, skills, and values. What should students know? What should they be able to do? What should they value. So the objectives are behavioral.

All program learning objectives focus on the learner. In other words, the courses are viewed in terms of learning, rather than teaching.

Different majors have different focus and skills requirements as well as expectations.

Each department has developed undergraduate and graduate
Student Learning Objectives to better serve the students.

These objectives guide the development and review of the curriculum and help faculty plan
and implement program assessment.
