NASAD
NASAD (National Association of Schools of Art and Design) is an association of approximately 280 schools of art and design, primarily at the collegiate level, but also including postsecondary non-degree-granting schools for the visual arts disciplines.
It is the national accrediting agency for art and design and art and design-related disciplines.
ACEJMC
ACEJMC (Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications) is the agency responsible for the evaluation of professional journalism and mass communications programs in colleges and universities.
NASM
NASM (National Association of Schools of Music) is an association of approximately 615 schools of music, primarily at the collegiate level, but also including postsecondary non-degree-granting schools of music.
It is the national accrediting agency for music and music-related disciplines.
NAST
NAST (National Association of Schools of Theatre) is an association of approximately 150 schools of theatre, primarily at the collegiate level, but also including postsecondary non-degree-granting schools of theatre.
It is the national accrediting agency for theatre and theatre-related disciplines.
Department Accreditation
Over the past decade, mounting demands on educators for accountability have increased interest in the assessment of student learning. Institutions at all educational levels now are often required to prove to legislatures
that students are indeed learning what educators claim they are teaching. In response, accreditation agencies, [list accreditation agencies for the varied department] many professional accreditation agencies, also are placing a higher priority on assessment. This trend is gaining momentum demands for assessment are here, and are not expected to abate anytime soon.
